David Siegel's Designing Killer Web Sites Tip Sheet
This site provides links to design advice from a designer who makes his living from creating websites.
Joe Gillespie's Design site
Gillespie is also a designer and this site includes tips and links to additional resources on design. He stopped updating it in 2004, but there is much on the site that is of use to new designers. Or, if you just want to browse specific sections of his site, this reference page is a quick way to reach most topics.
Color Matters
This site has lots of useful information on using color in design.
Web Developers Virtual Library
This site is an encyclopedia of design and programming resources. It is pretty advanced stuff.
W3C - The World Wide Web Consortium
According to the W3C site information: "The W3C was founded in October 1994 to lead the World Wide Web to its full potential by developing common protocols that promote its evolution and ensure its
interoperability." The site is THE place to research technical issues of writing and web design.
