Read
It is easier to understand how HTML works if one also understands how it and the internet developed. So, before writing any code, you will first read about how the protocols for HTML developed. Read the following:
- When the Web was New, by Wade Roush.
- The IBM Personal Computer's 25th Anniversary
- Internet History
- From the resources listed on the Internet History page, browse through at least one of the first six links to the internet time lines.
- From the resources listed on the Internet History page, read at least the Tim Berners-Lee article and one of the Voices from Net History
- Next, check your internet IQ with this short, just for fun, quiz.
Discuss
After you have completed the reading, you will be ready to go to the Class Conference to participate in your first discussion question. It will be active for week 1 and 2 and is based on the reading assignments for week 1.
